Memphis breweries continued their strong showing in the Untappd Community Awards, with 23 beers earning medals in the 2025 edition of the competition, with results announced last month.
MFS Brewing (Memphis Filling Station), Wiseacre Brewing Co. and Soul & Spirits Brewery were the top three medal winners from Memphis.
Crosstown Brewing Co., Ghost River Brewing Co., Hampline Brewing, Meddlesome Brewing Co. and Memphis Made Brewing Co. also won awards, along with Nashville’s Bearded Iris Brewing, whose beers are now brewed at Wiseacre in Memphis.
As in past years, the awards were based entirely on Untappd user ratings, with beers required to receive at least 50 ratings from unique users in 2025 to qualify. Winners were then determined within individual substyles, with awards granted only in categories where at least three qualifying beers are available in a given market.
This year’s competition, the third annual event, was massive in scope, with more than 25,000 beverages from over 7,000 producers worldwide earning top-three finishes. In the United States alone, more than 3,200 breweries produced at least one award-winning beer at the state or national level.
The ten U.S. breweries with the highest number of state- or national-level award-winning beers include: Tree House Brewing Company (Charlton, MA), Sapwood Cellars Brewery (Columbia, MD), Hill Farmstead Brewery (Greensboro, VT), Schilling Beer Co. (Littleton, NH), Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, NC), Fox Farm Brewery (Salem, CT), Fabled Brew Works (Erlanger, KY), Anchorage Brewing Company (Anchorage, AK), Barrique Brewing and Blending (Nashville, TN), and Side Project Brewing (St. Louis, MO).
Memphis Filling Station’s 2025 Untappd awards
For the first time, Memphis Filling Station topped the local leaderboard, bringing home a total of nine medals — the most of any Memphis brewery in 2025.
MFS’s haul included three gold, two silver and four bronze awards.
