Hook Point Brewing Co.’s East Memphis taproom, the Ready Room, will close Sunday, Jan. 19, exactly two years from its opening date in 2023.

The closure was due to “extenuating and unresolved circumstances,” according to an announcement this morning on social media.

“After 2 incredible years of pouring beers, sharing meals, and creating memories, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of The Ready Room. We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support, but due to extenuating and unresolved circumstances, this will be our last weekend,” the post said in part.

“This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The RR has been more than a workplace or a place for food and drinks, it’s been a home for all of us. Every dish served, every laugh shared and every celebration hosted has been a testament to the magic we created together. We built something truly special, but even more importantly, we built relationships that will last a lifetime.”

The announcement, however, hinted at something new on the horizon: “This isn’t a ‘goodbye’ but a ‘see you again.'”

Both the Hook Point Brewing and Original Glory brands will continue with production in Collierville.

The Ready Room opened in 2023 at 715 W. Brookhaven Circle, in the former home of Bangkok Alley.

Hook Point’s owners had initially planned to open a taproom in Collierville, where the production brewery opened in 2020. But a town ordinance that requires establishments selling alcohol to derive 50% of their revenue from food sales from an on-site kitchen led Hook Point to look elsewhere to open its taproom.
