Beers from MFS Brewing aren’t being sold in stores, but you can still stock up on Memphis Filling Station beers to enjoy at home or at a holiday gathering.
MFS’s Downtown taproom is selling 16-oz. cans of its beers to go, either as singles ($5 each) or in four-packs ($16).
MFS, which just opened in September at 206 GE Patterson, does not have a beer canning machine. However, MFS is using a bench-top can seamer and is canning the beers one at a time.
It’s time consuming, but MFS is typically canning about a dozen of a few different beers in spurts.
Over the weekend, MFS’s cooler had beers such as Left Handed Screwdriver, Blinker Fluid V1 and V2, Within Tolerances Chocolate Raspberry Cake Milk Stout, Tri-5Pils Italian Pilsner and Easy Out Festbier.
Right now, the cans may look at little bare, sporting just a small sticker with the beer name and description. MFS ran out of its initial batch of labels, but they’ve got 3,000 more en route.
The Memphis Filling Station taproom will be closed Wednesday and Thursday this week, but it’s open today, Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 3 to 9 p.m., for Thanksgiving beer needs. The taproom will be open again on Friday at noon.
