Damn Near Kilt’Er, a Scottish Ale, is the latest beer from Memphis’ Grind City Brewing Co. to get a wide release in stores and restaurants.

The 5.6%-ABV dark beer is the brewery’s fall/winter seasonal release. It hit store shelves in six-packs of 16-oz. cans on Nov. 1 and will be available through the end of January.

“It is a fan favorite in our taproom and a favorite of the staff,” Hopper Seely, Grind City’s president, told Memphis Beer Blog.

“We have made it for the taproom only for a few years, and when we were thinking of what our winter seasonal should be, we knew it needed to be this one!”

The malt-forward Damn Near Kilt’Er boasts of caramel and toffee flavors, with a slightly sweet finish.

“It doesn’t have a lot of residual sweetness, and has a cleaner finish, which leads it to be easier to drink than other Scottish ales,” Seely said.

In addition to Grind City’s Downtown taproom, Damn Near Kilt’er can be found in Shelby County at Kroger stores, as well as liquor stores and restaurants. It’s also available in Jackson, Miss., and across North Mississippi.
