Bring Your Soul, the newest offering from Crosstown Brewing Co., is a “Dark IPA” that combines the piny aromas of Pacific Northwest hops with the sweetness of dark, malted grains.
Bring Your Soul, 5.9% ABV, is Crosstown’s winter seasonal beer.
It was released on Nov. 15 and hit the local market last week, arriving in stores such as Kroger.
The beer is a collaboration with We Are Memphis, a nonprofit effort that seeks to elevate Memphis by “generating massive visibility, energy, and investment into our community, positively impacting issues and ecosystems at scale.”
Bring Your Soul is the motto of the We Are Memphis campaign.
The beer, meanwhile, is a great release for the winter chill.
Black IPAs, or Cascadian Dark Ales, were fairly popular a decade ago, but are seemingly harder to come by. One of my favorites that was widely available was New Belgium’s Snow Day Winter Ale, but it’s no longer in production.
However, Bring Your Soul is a nice return to form, and it will be a treat for Memphis craft beer drinkers on the cold nights ahead.
