Meddlesome Brewing Co.’s Meandering 0.5K probably won’t get your heart rate up, but it will be a whole lot of fun.

The annual race — it’s a short walk, really — is coming back for its sixth year on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m., at Meddlesome’s Cordova brewery.

So how does a 0.5K work?

Meddlesome maps out a half kilometer in the brewery’s parking lot, which is the official “track.” There’s a big speech given, and then the race is on!

If you’re hoping for glory by winning the Meandering 0.5K, you’re out of luck, because there are no race winners … except, of course, for the nonprofits supported by Meddlesome.

The Meandering 0.5K is Meddlesome’s big annual charity event, and it raises money for a different nonprofit each year. In past years, Meddlesome has raised as much as $5,000 for local nonprofits.

This year’s race will benefit Thrive Memphis, which provides social and recreational experiences for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Thrive Memphis offers holistic programming in a safe, welcoming community for individuals with a variety of disabilities.

Tickets to the event are $30, and all proceeds benefit Thrive Memphis. Tickets are available for purchase online now.

Attendees will get to enjoy food samples from four local food vendors, a specialty event cup, two “post-race” beers, and an after-party with live music. There’s also a prize awarded for the best costume.

The event will take place outside Meddlesome’s brewery at 7750 Trinity Road, Suite 114.
