Crosstown Brewing Co. has teamed up with seminal Memphis band Big Ass Truck for the brewery’s latest collaboration beer, “Malt Liquor Man.”

Malt Liquor Man, named after a 1995 song from the band, is a big ass beer, coming in at 8% ABV.

The heavy-hitting malt liquor, with notes of corn and malt, will make its debut on Thursday, Nov. 2, in Crosstown’s Midtown taproom, with band members on site to spin their tunes.

The beer will hit the market soon in limited 16-oz cans and on draft.

Big Ass Truck, known for its blend of rock and psychedelic funk, celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this month. The band also released a two-album retrospective, All You Can Handle.

Founding members of the band include singer/guitarist Robby Grant, singer/guitarist Steve Selvidge, bassist Joe Boone, keyboardist Alex Greene, drummer Robert Barnett and DJ Colin Butler on turntables.

“Malt Liquor Man” appeared on Big Ass Truck’s 1995 self-titled album.
