Important Announcement: Heroes and Hops Cancelled
We’re incredibly saddened to announce that the Heroes and Hops Beer Festival, originally scheduled for September 13th, has been cancelled.
This decision was not made lightly. After careful consideration and conversations with our members, we’ve determined that moving forward with the event is no longer feasible this year. We know many of you were looking forward to a day filled with great local beer and community spirit in support of Irreverent Warriors — and we share your disappointment.
To everyone who planned to attend, pour, or volunteer: thank you for your support and enthusiasm.

A new beer festival is coming to Memphis this fall, bringing together craft beer lovers and homebrewers in support of a powerful cause: suicide prevention for veterans.
The inaugural Hops and Heroes Beer Festival, hosted by the Memphis Brewers Association homebrew club, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at a new event space at Agricenter International.
The festival will feature home-brewed beers and craft beers from as many as 30 local and regional breweries and homebrew groups — about 100 beers and seltzers, in all, to sip and sample.
“As homebrewers, our beers can’t be bought or sold, so this is the only way to share the hobby we love,” Jay Campbell, Memphis Brewers Association president, told Memphis Beer Blog.
“Most all of the commercial brewers come from a homebrewing background, and we collaborate with them as often as we can. This just seemed like a natural progression to bring commercial brewers and homebrewers together for a fun event in an amazing new venue.”
Proceeds will benefit Irreverent Warriors, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health and prevent suicide.
“We actually met the Irreverent Warriors through a member, who’s active military. We ended up doing a collaborative beer with Urban Consequence to benefit the group,” Campbell said. “Many people are not aware of the problem of veteran suicide, and this non-profit tackles the problem head-on. It’s an honor for the Memphis Brewers to help in any way we can.”
Tickets are on sale now online for $40 (with a limited early bird discount), while tickets for active military and veterans are $35. Admission includes a tasting glass and access to sample all the available beers and seltzers. There are also VIP and designated driver ticket options.
