Grind City Brewing Co.’s latest seasonal beer, Krispy Treat, is hitting the taproom this weekend before it gets a wider release — for the first time — in 16-oz. cans.

Krispy Treat, 4.4% ABV, is a marshmallow and vanilla-infused rice lager.

The beer is Grind City’s new winter/early spring seasonal beer, available February through April. It follows on the heels of the brewery’s previous seasonal release, Damn Near Kilt’Er, a Scottish Ale.

“It’s light and refreshing, but has enough body and flavor from the marshmallows and vanilla beans to give it a perfect balance of flavor for this time of year,” Hopper Seely, Grind City’s president, told Memphis Beer Blog.

Krispy Treat will make its first taproom appearance of the year on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Grind City’s free Frost’d Limited-Release Party, which will also features four one-day-only beers.

Krispy Treat will be available in the Memphis market at liquor stores and convenience stores starting Feb. 5.

When Seely and his team met to discuss the seasonal beer lineup for 2025, they looked at the taproom’s most popular beers and picked Krispy Treat to lead off the year.

“Our head brewer, Mark Patrick, created this brew for a taproom-only release about three years ago, and it has steadily become a fan favorite,” Seely added.
