Memphis Made sending limited kegs of 2024 ‘Malted’ beers to local bars

Keg of Memphis Made beer

In late November, Memphis Made Brewing Co. hosted the 2024 edition of its “Malted” dark beer festival.

If you missed it, there will be a chance soon to try four of the event’s limited-edition malty beers at your favorite local craft beer bar.

Last week, Memphis Made sent a small number of Malted kegs into the world, and you should start seeing those beers on local taps soon. The beers were being sent to spots such as Lucchesi’s Beer Garden, Flying Saucer Cordova, Young Avenue Deli and Jack Brown’s.

Here’s a list of the beers that will be available, along with descriptions provided by Memphis Made:

Stouty McStoutFace (5.9% ABV)
The internet is an amazing thing but not for letting people name things. The UK government found that out the hard when they asked the internet to name their new research vessel. Boaty McBoatFace was the winner. Stouty McStoutFace is a English style stout in honor of this momentous occasion. Just like the wit of the English, this stout is roasty and on the dry side.

Procrastinator (7.6% ABV)
Do you like to put things off until the last minute? Well, do we have a beer for you! The rich malty smoothness of this Dopplebock will leave you feeling like, “I can rake the leaves tomorrow.” Munich malt comprises the bulk of this beer, giving it a hardy dark bread flavor. Don’t wait until later, enjoy a Procrastinator now.

Something Wheated This Way Comes (6.66% ABV)
This is a 100% wheat beer. Wheat is notoriously difficult to brew with, but with the addition of a hefty amount of rice hulls, we were able to indulge our temptations and combine these forces of Good and Evil. A gentle pillow of wheat is peppered with spice from the yeast. Are you going to be gentle or spicy?

Baby Rye Rye Rye (5.5% ABV)
It might sound crazy but it ain’t no lie, equal parts Biscuit Rye, Dark Munich and Pilsner malt give this beer a hint of caramel apple. Sweet with a tannic bite from the rye might make you want to start a fight, but please don’t.
