Boris, the big, barrel-aged Imperial Stout from Crosstown Brewing Co., is getting released in bigger cans for 2024.

For the first time, Crosstown is packaging the beer, aged in Blue Note bourbon barrels, in four-packs of 16-oz. cans.

“We’ve done bottles and 12-oz. cans, but never 16s,” Clark Ortkiese, Crosstown Brewing’s co-founder, told Memphis Beer Blog. “Some of these barrels got extended aging time, and I think it really helped the beer get woodier and more bourbon flavor.”

The 9.5%-ABV seasonal beer will be released on Friday, Dec. 20, with a launch party featuring music by SCREAMER, starting at 6 p.m.

Crosstown will also be selling $5 shots of Larceny bourbon when you order a Boris. “Having that whiskey right there really sets the tone for a big, bracing beer like this,” Ortkiese added.

Boris will be available on draft and in cans, to go, in Crosstown’s taproom. In addition, a very limited number of cases of the beer will be distributed locally.

Crosstown is located at 1264 Concourse Ave.
