Memphis Made Brewing Co. is set to unveil its new Downtown taproom on Saturday, July 20, with a grand opening party.

The event — a week after the closing of Memphis Made’s Midtown taproom — will take place from 1-10 p.m. at the brewery’s new Edge District location, 435 Madison, which overlooks an outdoor space called the Ravine.

“We are really looking forward to finally opening our Downtown taproom in the Ravine. This is a long time coming,” Andy Ashby, co-owner and sales manager, told Memphis Beer Blog.

“It’s a really fun space, and this is the first party of many to come.”

The celebration will feature some surprise taps and the debut of a special release American wheat beer called Wonderbeer, a tribute to the adjacent Wonder Bread bakery that was a Memphis landmark until its closure in 2017.

“The Rise apartments across Lauderdale were built where the Wonder Bread plant was,” Ashby said.

“I sometimes give people directions to the new brewery by saying it is near where they used to make Wonder Bread. People still remember the smell of fresh bread while driving down Madison.”

In addition to the beer, the grand opening will feature live music from The Wailing Banshees, Johnny & The Seagulls, Macrophonics and the Subteens. Food trucks will include Smoke & Toast, New Wing Order and Mempops.
