Years ago, Hampline Brewing Co.’s brewmaster Wes Osier introduced his good friend, Jeff, to one of Boulevard Brewing Co.’s most well-known beers.

The beer was Tank 7 American Saison, a high-ABV, trendsetting farmhouse ale that helped make Saisons cool in the United States.

Osier’s friend, Jeff, was hockey player Jeff Lazaro, who played for the NHL’s Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators, as well as the U.S. National team.

“He loved the beer, so I told him that I would make him a similar-styled beer, a heavy saison, and name it after him,” Osier explained.

“The rest,” he added, “is history.”

Hampline introduced “Le Lazer” Saison, 8.5% ABV, back in 2021. It’s an earthy, spicy ale with notes of tropical fruit, banana and strawberry.

With hockey’s Stanley Cup Finals in full swing, Le Lazer makes its return this week to Hampline’s taproom.

Hampline is hosting a “Le Lazer Comeback Celebration” with $2 off four-packs of Le Lazer today and tomorrow, June 13-14. In addition, Hampline will have Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the big screen tonight at 7 p.m.

Hampline is located at 584 Tillman, between Sam Cooper and Summer.
