Registration opens for Bluff City Brewers’ 2024 ‘Extravaganza!’ homebrew contest

Registration is open for the 2024 “Extravaganza!” — the annual homebrew competition sponsored by the Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs — and entry spots are filling up fast.

The contest is the longest-running homebrew competition in the Mid-South.

If you want to register, you can do so online. In addition to competition entries, the club is recruiting judges and stewards.

The competition is sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.

Categories are based on the 2021 Beer Judge Certification Program guidelines. Judging sessions will be held in February.

There is a limit of 300 entries for the competition, and organizers expect most, if not all, of those spots to be filled. Entries will come from all over the country, though most will be from the Mid-South region.

The competition concludes on Feb. 24 with an awards ceremony and after-party at High Cotton Brewing Co., which is open to the public.
