Soul & Spirits Brewery is hosting its 2nd annual Manes on Main Festival this weekend on Saturday, May 13, from 1-10 p.m.

The event will feature the re-release of What A Mane, a 5.7% ABV Smoked Festbier. It’s a stronger version of Soul & Spirits’ Bring It Home Helles, with added smokey and spice flavor.

The beer’s name was inspired by the song “What a Man,” recorded by Linda Lyndell for Stax Records in 1968. (If it doesn’t ring a bell, you’ve probably heard the Salt-N-Pep cover!)

Soul & Spirits is located at 845 N. Main.

As for the “manes,” the festival will feature the return of the hair and beard competitions that were a hit last year.

There will also be special take-home glassware, and the first 100 orders come with a fresh donut pairing.
