Meddlesome Brewing Co. will host its eighth annual Meddlesome Meandering 0.5K on Saturday, Nov. 8 — a lighthearted “race” that’s more about beer and community than breaking a sweat.

The tongue-in-cheek event spans just a few hundred meters — about the length of the brewery’s parking lot — but it’s one of Meddlesome’s biggest community gatherings of the year.

Participants will enjoy food from four local vendors — Howard’s Donuts (Lakeland), Waldo’s Chicken & Beer, Soul Fish Cafe, and Tavern 018 — along with two post-race beers, a specialty event cup, and an after-party with live music.

Early bird tickets are on sale now for $30, with the price increasing to $40 after Nov. 3.

As always, the event’s proceeds will go toward a Memphis-based charity. This year’s partner is one especially close to Meddlesome’s heart: Stax Music Academy.

Supporting Stax Music Academy

“We chose Stax Music Academy … because of the funding cutbacks they’ve faced this year and the important work they do,” Ben Pugh, Meddlesome’s president, head brewer and co-founder, told Memphis Beer Blog.

“Stax provides young people in Memphis with world-class music education, mentoring, and performance opportunities, all while helping them build leadership skills, discipline, and confidence. Beyond music, the academy is about creating pathways for local students—many from underserved communities—to thrive both academically and personally. We feel that supporting them is a direct way to invest in the future of Memphis.”

Eight years of Meandering

The Meandering 0.5K blends the spirit of a fun run, a neighborhood block party, and a community fundraiser, supporting smaller Memphis nonprofits that gain meaningful visibility and funding through the event.

“It’s hard to believe we’re already celebrating year eight of this event—it has truly become one of the most fun and meaningful traditions we host at Meddlesome,” Pugh said.

“For us, it’s more than just a celebration; it’s our chance to give back to the community that supports us year-round. We’ve always made it a point to partner with small, locally based charities because we believe that’s where our efforts can make the most direct and lasting impact.”

In past years, the event has supported groups such as the Humane Society of Memphis, Thrive Memphis, Dream Factory of Memphis and Carpenter Art Garden.

“Being able to connect with these organizations, support their missions, and see the difference our community can make together is incredibly rewarding,” Pugh added. “This event embodies that spirit, and it means the world to us to keep it going year after year.”

Meddlesome is located at 7750 Trinity Road, Suite #114, in Cordova.
