
Oktoberfest is fast approaching, and brewery taprooms in the Memphis area are gearing up for their annual celebrations.
Here’s a listing, in chronological order, of local events happening in September and October. (Additional events will be added when announced.)

Saturday, Sept. 21; 2-6 p.m.

Hampline’s Oktoberfest party on Sept. 21 — the day the official Oktoberfest celebration begins in Munich — will feature live music by Turnstyles with Coco, German eats, and a stein-holding contest where the strongest arms will battle it out for a Hampline gift card.

At Soul & Spirits’ 3rd Annual Oktoberfest Party, the brewery will be releasing Danke, its annual Oktoberfest beer. There will be liter specials, a stein-holding competition, dog costume competition and other surprises. Food trucks on site will include Hot n’ Heavy Dogs, Smoke & Toast and SnoJunt 901.
Wiseacre Brewing Co., 2783 Broad Ave.

Wiseacre’s annual Oktoberfest celebration will be held at the brewery’s “OG” location and feature stein fills, live music and more. Food trucks will include Hot n’ Heavy Dogs, Just Wrap, and El Mero Taco.

Cooper House Project’s second Oktoberfest celebration will feature live music (San Salida, Wyly Bigger), a food pop-up from Ritzie’s Barbecue, and new beer on the tap wall.

The 4th Annual Oktoberfest at Grind City will have steins and games, food and music. Food trucks include Chi Phi (German Brats & fixin’s) and Albee’s (Tacos, quesadillas). There will be live music from Skinny Powers, Everdeens, Beau Elkington and more.

The very first Oktoberfest celebration is coming soon to Collierville’s Maroon Brew. The day will include commemorative steins, German sausage specials, sauerkraut, pretzels, a stein-holding competition and more.

Meddlesome does things differently for Oktoberfest. The brewery’s annual Ska-Tober Fest will be a day filled with Ska music, with a lineup that includes Devon Kaye & the Solutions, Left Hand Hotdog, Stuck Lucky, The Big News, The Skalors and Joystick. It’s free and open to all ages.

Memphis Made and High Cotton/Flyway are teaming up for a joint “Oktoberfest in the Edge District” celebration. There will be games, food trucks, live music and more at each brewery, and both are making special beers for the event.
Food trucks will include Smoke and Toast, Big River Dogs, and Mempops. The music lineup includes Wyly Bigger, 1-3 p.m. (High Cotton); Hillbilly Mojo, 3-5 p.m. (Memphis Made); Paint Memphis after-party with DJ, 6 p.m. (Memphis Made); and Bluff City Backsliders, 7:30-10 p.m. (High Cotton). Board to Beers will also be set up in the Ravine with Octoberfest board games for the whole family.
Memphis Made and High Cotton/Flyway are linked through a Ravine staircase entrance at 571 Marshall.
