Bluewing Blueberry Wheat Ale, the flagship beer of Little Rock’s Flyway Brewing Co., is now available on draft at High Cotton Brewing Co.‘s Memphis taproom.
High Cotton is transforming into a Flyway brewery, taproom and restaurant, and Bluewing is the very first Flyway beer to land at High Cotton.
Bluewing, 4.9% ABV, is an American wheat ale brewed with blueberry puree.
It’s a hazy, refreshing beer that’s a bit sweet and a bit tart, with a nice blueberry aroma and taste. Bluewing is a year-round beer, but it’s perfect for the warm Memphis spring and hot Memphis summer.
This batch of Bluewing, which is available only on tap and in growlers to go in High Cotton’s taproom, was brewed in Memphis at High Cotton and taste-tested by the Flyway team to ensure it matched the Arkansas-brewed version.
Bluewing has not yet been canned in Memphis, but it should be soon.
Meanwhile, Flyway’s Honeybird, a honey blonde ale, will likely be the next Flyway beer to be introduced in the High Cotton taproom as it morphs into Flyway Memphis.
