Soul & Spirits taps lemony Love Joy as new summer seasonal

Soul & Spirits Brewery has brought back its sour lemon gose, Love Joy, and is officially making it the brewery’s summer seasonal beer.

Love Joy, 4.6% ABV, is a refreshing beer brewed with salt, coriander and lemon purée.

“I think it’s a perfect summer beer,” Soul & Spirits’ Ryan Allen told Memphis Beer Blog.

“It’s light. It’s lemony, to remind you of being a kid and running a lemonade stand. But it has a touch of salt — and a little alcohol.”

Love Joy returned to Soul & Spirits’ taproom last week on draft and in four packs of 16-ounce cans to go.

The beer is also being packaged in six packs of 12-ounce cans, which will be available locally soon in Kroger stores and elsewhere in the Memphis area. In addition, Soul & Spirits is sending Love Joy to select spots in Nashville and Arkansas.

Love Joy gets its name from Albert King’s Stax-label song, “Lovejoy, ILL.”
