Crosstown Brewing Co. is celebrating its sixth anniversary this month with a new beer: Sixth Sense, which is a Munich Dunkel.
The beer will be released on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Crosstown’s 6th Anniversary Party.
Crosstown’s Clark Ortkiese told Memphis Beer Blog that the brewery “tried to go as traditional as we could” in making the new dark lager.
“The base malt is Weyerman Munich. We extended the boil a little for extra kettle caramelization,” he said. “It’s very dark brown, approaching black.”
This moderately malty beer will be around 5% ABV and sold on draft in Crosstown’s taproom and in four-packs of 16.-oz cans to go, as well as some limited distribution.
Crosstown will be canning and kegging the beer this week.
Crosstown’s anniversary party on Feb. 24 will also feature food from New Wing Order and Snow Junt, plus music from Devil Train.
