Clear Smoke, Crosstown Brewing Co.’s latest collaboration with WYXR 91.7 FM, is being released Saturday, May 6, in Crosstown’s Midtown taproom.
The beer, an homage to Memphis hip-hop, is being called a “krystalweizen.”
Crosstown is describing it as a “filtered version of a hefeweizen, making it smooth and easy to drink. The traditional clove and banana notes of a hefeweizen are restrained and subtle, making it a straight up crusher!”
WYXR is a non-profit community radio station headquartered in Crosstown Concourse, next door to Crosstown Brewing.
The brewery is hosting a release party Saturday, from 3-6 p.m., feating DJs Bizzle Bluebland and Jus Borne and lots of Clear Smoke on tap. Crosstown will also have 16-oz cans of the beer available to go. Authentic Toast food truck will be onsite.
Crosstown’s taproom, 1264 Concourse Avenue, opens on Saturday at noon.
